Built in 1723, the Old North Church is the oldest surviving church building in Boston, and it was the site of the launch event for Alex's book, The North End: A Brief History of Boston's Oldest Neighborhood, on July 22, 2009.

The event was sponsored by the Old North Foundation, the Boston African American National Historic Site, and The History Press. These photos were taken by Heather Hartford.
